Cuddles and more donated to King’s Mill Hospital Children’s Ward
We have donated 50 cuddly stags together with activity books and stickers to King’s Mill Hospital Children’s ward.
The donation is aimed at putting a smile on the face of children receiving treatment at the hospital, particularly during the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Stanley the Stag, our new mascot, joined us earlier this year as part of our children’s offer. As well as being our mascot, Stanley takes the lead role in our financial education activity booklet.
Stanley colouring sheets are also available on our website at mansfieldbs.co.uk/stanley for anyone to download and enjoy free of charge.
Marketing Manager, Dale Twigger, explained why we are so pleased to make the donation:
“Ordinarily, we would love to be out there engaging with our community because, as a local building society, this is really important to us. Whilst we have had members of staff volunteering and offering a helping hand, the social distancing measures resulting from the Coronavirus have made it quite hard for us to get out and about as much as we would normally.
So we’ve been thinking about ways we could do more to support the community at this time and the donation to King’s Mill seemed a perfect fit. We really hope the donation helps put a smile on young faces having to go through hospital treatment at this challenging time.”
Community Involvement Coordinator, Joy Wilson, who received the donations said:
“We’re very grateful for this donation to our Children’s Ward from The Mansfield. Donations like these that give our patients something to do whilst they are in hospital make a real difference and we are sure that patients and families on Ward 25 will really benefit from them.”
